The National Weather Service will be holding free Skywarn training sessions in Ruidoso on Thursday, March 4.
Skywarn spotters are the NWS “eyes on the ground” and provide reports of extreme weather conditions,
snow and rainfall amounts, and excessive or hazardous winds.
Amateur radio operators are encouraged to participate in this program.
There is no charge for the training, and registration is not required. Simply show up!
These sessions are intended to train new volunteers as well as providing a “refresher” class
for those persons who have been trained before.
The training will be held at the Lincoln County Annex building, 115 Kansas City Road, Ruidoso, next to the Ruidoso Public Library.
Each session lasts approximately 3 hours; attend whichever meeting fits your schedule.
The afternoon session will start at 1:30 PM.
The evening session will start at 5:30 or 6PM.
