Meeting Information

The Sierra Blanca Amateur Radio Club meets monthly, usually on the fourth Thursday of the month. All members and visitors alike are welcome to attend!

Next Meeting: Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 6:00 P.M.

Topic: Summits on the Air
Presenter: Doug Thompson, W5DET

Summits on the Air (SOTA) is an award scheme for radio amateurs and shortwave listeners that encourages portable operation in mountainous areas (analogous to the better known "Islands On The Air" program). SOTA is truly worldwide in scope. The SOTA manager for the W5 region is SBARC's very own Doug Thompson, W5DET. Learn about this very exciting activity at the club's August monthly meeting.

This meeting will be held in the Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club, 1 Country Club Dr, Alto, NM (see street map below).

The July meeting is the Annual Meeting of the membership where club officers are elected. Other meeting months feature programs on a variety of topics of interest to amateur radio operators. Special meetings to conduct club business outside of the annual meeting are announced in advance.
